Bryan's platelets have improved significantly and he is feeling GREAT today!
He returns to the hospital on Friday for the BIG test. The PET/CT scan will show any active cancer cells--which will determine the effectiveness of the chemotherapy. We have an appointment the following Thursday (the 25th) to discuss the results with specialists and to schedule the next steps in his treatment (radiation). We have high hopes and will continue to pray for our desired result!
We are so appreciative of your support, words, prayers, thoughts, service, etc. We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love we feel (and have felt since June 11th). We have not journeyed alone--THANK YOU!

P.S. I love the poster.
JoLayna-Disease of love?
Joe
I've been been wondering if cancer really is a "disease of love" since the talk was given in General Conference and especially since you asked me about it in your e-mail.
For those of you who don't know what we're referencing, here it is: http://www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,49-1-775-37,00.html
I love the way Elder Snow talks about cancer allowing his family time to mend fences and say goodbyes. That is a blessing--a far better scenario than to have regrets after a sudden passing.
So DO I THINK cancer is a disease of love??? Yes & No.
I've experienced a range of emotions over the past few months--from the most consuming love and hope to intense anger and fear! Does the love outweigh the fear? I think the fear only deepens the love, but I think I'll reserve the right to answer the "disease of love" question in a few months.
By the way, Bryan doesn’t even remember the GC talk (and I promise he was awake because I remember staring at him and exchanging a look)!
